This information has just been confirmed by the Nghe team on the afternoon of July 8: “Nghe An Song Lam River Club is pleased to announce goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet will move to compete for Viettel public clubs on loan.

Van Viet mature from the young SLNA training furnace. He joined the Nghe team in 2013 when he was only 11 years old. Thanks to the perseverance and efforts, the goalkeeper from Tan Ky, Nghe An has gradually won the trust from the coaching staff in the youth teams as well as on the first team.
On May 20, 2023, he had his debut in SLNA in the artistic derby – Tinh against Hong Linh Ha Tinh in V.League 2023. After impressive performances, he overtook Nguyen Van Hoang to become the main goalkeeper in the rest of the season.
In the 2024/2025 season, Van Viet continued to be the first choice of BHL SLNA in front of the wooden frame. He played 25 matches in V.League and 4 matches at the National Cup for SLNA with a total of 2552 minutes of play on the field.
With the spirit of brave competition, Van Viet has contributed greatly to help SLNA relegated V.League successfully, as well as reached the final of the National Cup after 8 years of waiting.
The departure of Van Viet opens a great opportunity for the adjacent age, especially the young goalkeeper Cao Van Binh. Born in 2005, Van Binh is considered a promising face of Vietnamese football. Currently, Van Binh is meeting with the U22 Vietnam team to prepare for the U23 Southeast Asia 2025.
