Arsenal wants to complete the transfer of RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko according to their terms and set the deadline to complete the agreement in the context of interest in Viktor Gyokeres.
Arsenal put Sesko on the list of ideal candidates to consolidate their attack before the next season. However, the Gunners will only continue to pursue this striker according to their terms, as revealed by Givemesport, and they want to agree to be implemented in time for the opening match of the Premier League campaign with Man United on August 17.
The new sports director Andrea Berta worked closely with the head coach Mikel Arteta about the rookies, with Sesko at the top of their desired list. However, the North London team made it clear that they would not participate in a costly transfer deal, when RB Leipzig is said to be a fee of about 85.5 million pounds.
Sesko and Arsenal are believed to have reached personal agreements, but the great valuation distance for the final transfer fee continues to be a big barrier for two clubs.
While Sesko really wanted to move to the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal still left all options. The Emirates team also contacted Gyokeres, the talented Sporting Lisbon, although they seemed to have put aside their interest in the Swedish player due to the internal tensions that were taking place at the Portuguese club between the 27 -year -old star and Chairman Frederico Varandas.
Sporting Lisbon is asking teams interested in Gyokeres to pay contract release fee of £ 85.5 million, despite the information that the agreement for the Swedish player to leave is only £ 60 million.
Both Sesko and Gyokeres want to join Arsenal this summer, with Gyokeres even rejecting the offer from Juventus when he is waiting for a “dream” move to North London. However, the increase in the transfer fee of both players is becoming an obstacle to Arteta and his transfer plan before the 2025/26 season.
In the context of continuing efforts to reach an agreement with one of the two players, Arsenal will return to compete next month, with a trip before the season next season to Singapore and Hong Kong expected by the end of July.
