Barcelona is planning to bring Lionel Messi back to become the focus in the inauguration of the Camp Nou yard after a large -scale renovation process.
As revealed from Mundo Deportivo, the Catalunya team planned to invite Messi to return to the Camp Nou to be grateful in the solemn ceremony marking the re -opening of the legendary stadium, expected to take place in the summer of 2026. Messi was considered by the Barca leadership as the central character of the ceremony.
The renovation of the Camp Nou is part of the ambitious Espai Barça project, with the goal of completing the entire stadium to serve from the 2026/27 season. The gratitude ceremony Messi was also considered as the official farewell – and deserved – for the greatest player in the club history, who left the team in 2021 after 778 matches, scored 672 goals and won a total of 35 titles.
