Arsenal's plan to recruit Viktor Gyokeres is at risk of breaking, when MU is given very close to the agreement with Sporting Lisbon.
During this summer transfer window, Arsenal constantly searched for a high -class striker to strengthen the new season under the Mikel Arteta coach. The names like Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko and especially Viktor Gyokeres were all in the sight of the Gunners.
Recent sources said Arsenal was only a few days away from recruiting Swedish strikers, with a starting fee of about 55 million pounds (equivalent to 63.5 million euros).
However, according to a new source from Sic Noticias (Portugal), MU has suddenly entered and is currently very close to an agreement with Sporting for Gyokeres.
Specifically, the Red Devils are willing to spend the equivalent amount of Arsenal, about 55 million pounds, which means that they will also have to pay Coventry City 10% of the transfer fee (about 3.76 million pounds), because the club once installed the beneficiary when selling Gyokeres in 2023.
The Gyokeres deal to Arsenal is being delayed because the two parties have not yet agreed on the secondary terms that can increase the total value to about 65 million pounds.
Sporting wants to add 4 bonus terms, each of 2.5 million euros (about 2.16 million pounds). Although Arsenal did not object to the total amount of money, the two sides have not agreed on specific content. The Arsenal side wants at least one of the terms that must be “harder to achieve”.
Meanwhile, MU has been active in the transfer market. After recruiting Matheus CuHa from Wolves, they had just reached an agreement to recruit striker Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. According to The Athletic, this deal is worth up to £ 71 million. Mbeumo scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season after 38 appearances.
If MU really “handed on” success, this would be a big shock to Arsenal and make the race winning the number one striker of both teams more dramatic in the coming days.
