Although not officially announcing the contract with Marcus Rashford, Barca quickly shifted to the next big goal in the summer transfer window, in accordance with the strategic direction of coach Hansi Flick.
The British striker is present in Spain to complete the loan contract that lasts a season from MU, with the option to buy 30 million pounds in the summer next year.
And according to Diario Sport, coach Flick has determined the next goal for Barca to be a high quality border defender. Two top names on the shortlisted list include Alejandro Grimaldo (Leverkusen) – the product of La Masia, and Denzel Dumfries (Inter Milan) – a strong Dutch player, comprehensive craft.
Notably, both have an estimated price of about 30 million euros – a fairly “soft” figure. However, Dumfries can be purchased at a lower fee thanks to a provision that will expire at the end of July, forcing Barca to quickly make a decision.
Meanwhile, Grimaldo, 30 years old, has just had a sublimation season in Leverkusen, will be a plan to consider to increase the competition depth for Alejandro Balde and young talent Gerard Martin on the left wing.
Overall, Barca is gradually rebuilding the Hansi Flick's orientation – a big contract in the attack (Rashford), a new goalkeeper (Joan Garcia), and will soon be a quality border defender, maybe Grimaldo or Dumfries.
