Newcastle is aimed at buying Sesko instead of Isak

Newcastle is considering RB Leipzig's ability to recruit striker Benjamin Sesko in the case of Alexander Isak leaving the team.

Newcastle is interested in Sesko

The St James' Park team has long been interested in Sesko and sees him as a top target if Isak broke up with the team. However, the pursuit of the Slovenian player will face many financial difficulties.

According to The Athletic, Isak – the most goalscorer of Newcastle last season – want to leave the club and will not participate in the pre -season tour. This happened after Liverpool offered to recruit a 25 -year -old player, despite the previous Newcastle confirming that Isak was not for sale.

Benjamin Sesko (22 years old) was in Arsenal's sights, when the London team searched for a new number 9. However, Arsenal withdrew from the race after turning to Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres, who was about to dock on the Emirates for about 63.5 million euros plus 10 million euros.

Sesko has just signed a new contract with Leipzig in June 2024, an extra extension, keeping him in Germany until 2029. The old contract of Sesko has a release of about 65 million euros, and the new contract is said to have an “underground agreement” between Sesko and the club, allowing him to leave if there is a suitable project.

Newcastle will probably sell Isak

The former RB Salzburg star had an impressive season with Leipzig when scoring 21 goals after 45 matches in all competitions in 2024/25.

However, Sesko's strengths are not only in the number of goals. He actively moved, liked to receive the ball and did not hesitate to take risks, even though the ability to pass the ball is sometimes inaccurate.

Despite owning a height of 1m95, Sesko has a skillful technique of keeping the ball, the ability to accelerate to overcome the defender and the dispute is not good – what makes him a nightmare for the central defenders.

Sesko's most dangerous weapon is a diverse fining skill, scoring with both legs and heads. The Slovenia player moves without the ball and chose a very smart position, helping him become a permanent threat in the penalty area.

Sesko is especially effective when pairing with a speed partner like Lois OpenDa at Leipzig or Junior Adamu in Salzburg. With talent and development potential, any club that owns Sesko will enhance the attack significantly.
