According to The Athletic, MU does not have a fine forcing Barca to pay if he does not buy Marcus Rashford in the summer of 2026.
The 27 -year -old striker joined the Catalunya team on a borrowed form of a season, with an optional to buy it for a fee of 30 million euros. Barca will pay all the salary, although Rashford has accepted a significant salary reduction to complete the deal.
Previously, it was reported that Barca would have to pay 5 million euros to MU if not activate the purchase terms after the contract ended. However, The Athletic confirmed that there was no term of 5 million euros in an agreement between the two sides. That is, if Barca decided not to keep Rashford after this season, they did not have to pay any additional fees to MU.
In recent transfer, MU often inserted financial terms into loan contracts, typically Jadon Sancho when joining Chelsea last summer. Therefore, there was a speculation that the Rashford deal would have the same provision.
However, it has been clearly affirmed that there is no penalty if Barca does not buy Rashford after the 2024/25 season.
The British player has come to Barca last weekend, joined a few training sessions with the whole team and left a positive impression. After the club flew to Asia for the summer tour, Rashford hopes to quickly integrate and prove the value in the new shirt.
