Leipzig 'open the door' for MU to recruit Benjamin Sesko


According to German media, RB Leipzig reached an agreement to recruit Romulo Cardoso from Goztepe Club. This move shows that they are willing to break up with Benjamin Sesko this summer. This is considered good news for MU.

Romulo Cardoso Join Leipzig

In the summer of 2024, Goztepe borrowed Romulo Cardoso from Athletico Paranaense with the option to buy. In the 2025 winter transfer window, the Turkish team activated the provision to buy Brazilian striker for 2.5 million euros. After only 6 months of owning Romulo Cardoso, Goztepe sold him to RB Leipzig for 10 times the fee. According to Sky Sport (Germany), Leipzig has reached a preliminary agreement to recruit 23 -year -old striker for 25 million euros.

Currently, Leipzig is rushing to negotiate with Goztepe to soon complete the contract. Previously, Romulo reached the sights of many European teams thanks to its impressive performance in the 2024/25 season, when he scored 17 goals and had 10 assists after 33 matches.

Newcastle and MU are interested in Sesko

Leipzig accelerated the process of recruiting Romulo in the context that they may have to sell Benjamin Sesko right in the summer transfer window 2025. Romulo is considered an ideal plan to replace the Slovenian striker. Currently, Sesko is the pursuit of MU and Newcastle. Particularly Newcastle wants Sesko in case they are forced to sell Alexander Isak. Meanwhile, MU is a bit troublesome when pursuing Sesko because the finance is not abundant.
