Coach Ruben Amorim wants MU to sign a contract with Ollie Watkins, but the Red Devils consider Benjamin Sesko to be the No. 1 transfer target.
MU tries to recruit a new striker before the Premier League of the new season started, they had contacts with Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko. BLD MU has now decided to prioritize the recruitment of RB Leipzig striker Sesko, they hope to reach an agreement worth 60-70 million pounds plus additional fees.
According to TalkSport, this is a rather unexpected decision, because the head coach of United, Amorim, actually wants to sign a contract with Watkins from Aston Villa. Amorim made it clear that he wanted to bring back players with experience playing in the Premier League, like rookie Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cuha.
Ruben Amorim likes Ollie Watkins but MU chose Benjamin Sesko. |
Watkins is definitely suitable because he has proved himself a leading goal player in the Premier League, while Sesko has never played in England before. But United decided to focus on Sesko because they felt that Watkins's price was too high for a player who would turn 30 in December.
Aston Villa is said to want £ 60 million for Watkins – but MU is only ready to pay up to £ 45 million to this 29 -year -old British player. That made the Red Devils turn Sesko into their No. 1 target, and the transfer director Christopher Vivell is promoting the deal after working with RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg.
