Xavi Simons told RB Leipzig that he wanted to join Chelsea, but the Blues was far from reaching an agreement with the Bundesliga team.
Chelsea had negotiations to sign a contract with Xavi Simons this summer, but could not unify the fee with RB Leipzig, the team is demanding £ 70 million (£ 60.4 million) for Minh's star. The Bundesliga club rejected the exchange offer between Christopher Nkunku and Simons, while Nkunku himself did not want to return to the old team.

Schafer said: “We are often known for facilitating the players further. He expressed his desire to go further. Basically, we are open and will not block the ability of any player to leave. But we only accept the offers that we feel suitable. And so far there is no such case, that's why he played today. ”
Chelsea are trying to sell Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell before the transfer period ends, which will pave the way for Simons to Stamford Bridge. In addition to the Dutch player the Blues also cares about MU's Garnacho.
