Chelsea's homepage has officially confirmed the successful recruitment of striker Joao Pedro from Brighton with a fixed transfer fee of 55 million pounds plus £ 5 million.
The 23 -year -old striker signed a long -term contract with the Blues for a limited time to 2033 and joined the squad right before the quarter -finals of the FIFA Club World Cup with Palmeiras. The presence of Joao Pedro helps Chelsea fulfill the dream of finding a “number 9”, helping Chelsea answer the attack problem.

As a product of the Brazilian giant, Fluminense – Joao Pedro emerged as a young talent with a natural ability to score. He scored 10 goals in 36 matches for the team from Rio de Janeiro before moving to England to play.
Joao Pedro's journey continues in Watford, where he impressed during 4 seasons with 109 appearances, scored 24 goals, occasionally wearing the captain's armband in the 2022/23 campaign – all before he turned 22.
In 2023, Joao Pedro signed a contract with Brighton and made an immediate impact. He scored right in his debut and continued to have an impressive campaign with 19 goals in all competitions, ending as the top scorer of Seagulls.
As a versatile striker, Joao Pedro brings the top experience when he has represented Brazil in the international arena with 3 caps of Selecao, most recently in a 2-1 victory over Colombia.
