Transgender boxer Me Meane Khelif was under pressure to return the Olympic Gold Medal


After winning the 2024 Olympic Gold Medal, the martial artist iMane Khelif is becoming a controversial topic, due to suspicions related to her gender.

As revealed by The Sun, a recent leaked medical document showed that Khelif could be male, not a female. Immediately president of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Umar Kremlev asked the boxer to return the Olympic gold medal. “The medal must belong to the worthy, real women. We need to ensure the rights and fairness for all athletes,” said Kremlev.

Earlier, Kremlev himself also had a scandal when he discovered that Khelif was banned from participating in the 2023 World Championship, after the chromosome test. The story has not ended until now and Khelif has not been asked to return the medal.
