Why can't MU be able to recruit Mbeumo?

MU is still confident to sign a contract with striker Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, but up to now, the negotiation process has not had a breakthrough.

MU and Brentford are still disagreeing in the MBEumo case

It has been nearly a month since MU sent the first offer worth £ 55 million to the Cameroon player and was rejected by Brentford. The Red Devils later returned to an improvement offer, surpassing the £ 60 million milestone, but continued to be refused by Brentford.

Even so, Man United maintained confidence in this deal. They are seeking to reach an agreement with Brentford in the context that both sides still keep the stance. Brentford requested a higher fee, while MU searched for a compromise.

MU's goal is to have MBeumo in time to take part in the US tour, expected to start after they joined on July 7. However, that can only happen if either party concessions to accelerate the negotiation process.

Brentford still resolutely maintains financial requirements. They understand that the long time can make the battle in the MU, especially when Mbeumo is said to be given priority to Old Trafford.

MU has not been able to close Mbeumo

Sports director Brentford, Phil Giles, this week, confirmed that there was a serious interest for Mbeumo but did not rule out the possibility that he would continue to stick with the GTECH yard next season.

“There is a significant attention to Bryan, that has been public. But according to what I understand, if necessary, he is still ready to stay at Brentford for another year. There is no guarantee he will leave Brentford this summer. If the offer is appropriate, the deal may take place. If not, he will continue to stay.”

In the last 2024/25 season, Mbeumo showed impressive performance, and that made Brentford believe that his value should be higher than the MU proposed.

In short, the deal is still in a struggle. Brentford tough in pricing, MU wants to reach a reasonable agreement, and Mbeumo seems to be ready for a new chapter at Old Trafford. The problem is only time and exact figures to “close the application”.
