Viktor Gyokeres is said to become one of the highest paid players at Arsenal after he agreed to the personal terms in the 5 -year contract with the Emirates team.
After months of rumors about the future, the Swedish striker is now very close to leaving Sporting Lisbon when Arsenal entered the advanced negotiation phase with the Portuguese team about an expensive deal.
According to The Athletic, Gyokeres has prioritized Arsenal for a long time, despite strong attention from Man United. The London team sees England as an ideal piece for the No. 9 position they have been hunting for weeks.
According to TalkSport, if joining Arsenal, Gyokeres will receive a salary of £ 200,000/week, taking him into the group of the highest paid players at the club. According to data from Sporttrac, only 4 players who receive higher salary than Gyokeres at Arsenal include: Declan Rice (240,000 pounds/week), Martin Odegaard (240,000), Gabriel Jesus (265,000) and Kai Havertz (280,000).
Gyokeres will surpass Bukayo Saka (195,000), William Saliba (190,000) and Gabriel Martinelli (180,000) if the above salary is accurate.
Meanwhile, Sporting refused to ask for 65 million euros (£ 56 million) plus £ 15 million (£ 12.9 million) surcharges from Arsenal. According to The Guardian, the Portuguese team required 70 million euros (£ 60.2 million) with £ 10 million (£ 8.6 million) to accept the sale of their stars.
If the agreement was unable to reach Arsenal this summer, Gyokeres would also consider the backup plan. According to The Sun, the 27 -year -old Swedish striker will still leave Sporting, but it is a loan to another club.
This was a tactic used by Victor Osimhen last summer when he was unable to join Chelsea or Al Ahli – and finally played for Galatasaray on loan, scoring up to 37 goals after 41 matches. Currently, Gyokeres is also contacted with some Turkish clubs, including Fenerbahce – a team led by Jose Mourinho. In addition, Man United and Juventus are also closely monitoring the situation.
However, the Gyokeres side still hopes that the deal with Arsenal will be completed this summer – when they think this is the most ideal time for the striker born in 1998 to have the biggest step in his career. Gyokeres is even supposed to participate in the season before the season with Sporting and broke up with her girlfriend – a Portuguese actress – to completely cut off the relationships with this country.
