Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed with the familiar saying “Here We Go” that midfielder Jarell Quanusah will join Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window 2025.
The fee of this deal was revealed to be about 22 million pounds, accompanied by an attractive acquisition for Liverpool. This shows that the Anfield home team still appreciates the development potential of the center -back in 2003.
The deal takes only days after Quansah committed controversial behavior in the U21 U21 match. According to Rousing The Kop, Liverpool's young defender had an improper response after being replaced, this was said to be a drop of water that made his future at Anfield uncertainty.
Although it is unclear whether this is the main reason to accelerate the deal, it is clear that the relationship between Quansah and coach Arne Slot is no longer warm.
In the opposite direction, Bayer Leverkusen of new coach Erik Ten Hag is in need of additional personnel in the defense after breaking up with Jonathan Tah. Quansah, with ideal bodybuilding, calm play and good foot processing ability, is considered in accordance with the philosophy of the German team playing.
The fact that Liverpool installed the acquisition clause was a sign that they did not completely give up Quansah. This is also a new strategy of The Reds to create conditions for young players to gain experience in the harsh environment before being able to be acquired to contribute to the team.
After the 2024/25 season relatively impressive with 25 appearances in all competitions, Jarell Quanusah showed great potential. However, in the context of the current Liverpool defense, there are more experienced names such as Van Dijk, Konate or Joe Gomez, Quansah's frequent chance of playing is not high. The departure for development is a reasonable decision.
The deal is expected to be published in the next few days.
