Jadon Sancho is said to be very close to leaving Man United for surprisingly cheap prices. Accordingly, the Red Devils agreed to sell Sancho to Roma for only 20 million pounds and accepted a huge loss from the £ 73 million contract.
This winger no longer has the future at Old Trafford, when he did not play for the club since 2023 after a conflict with former coach Erik Ten Hag. Sancho has spent the previous season as a loan at Chelsea, somewhat regaining his reputation, but now he is on his way to Italy.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma reached a preliminary agreement with Man United. The report said the talks on Friday night created a breakthrough, when the two parties agreed on a loan plan with the obligation to buy. Roma will only pay 20 million pounds to own Sancho forever.
The remaining problem lies at Sancho's salary. He is currently receiving £ 250,000/week at Old Trafford, the contract is expected to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season. Roma suggested a 5 -year contract at £ 75,000/week, much lower than the £ 115,000 requirement/week of Sancho.
If the deal is completed, Man United will suffer a huge loss of 53 million pounds compared to the amount of £ 73 million they have spent to recruit Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.
Since joining Man United in 2021, Sancho has played 83 matches, scoring 12 goals. Recently, he was in California (USA) and had just tattooed for a rumored girlfriend, Saweetie rapper, with the “Quiava” buffer behind the ear, and covered an old tattoo.
Last season, in the Chelsea shirt, Sancho scored 3 goals and created 8 times in the Premier League, and contributed to help the West London team win the Conference League, complete the collection of European titles of the club.
In addition to Sancho, Roma is also interested in another Premier League star. Sports Manager Ricky Massara is said to be negotiating with Aston Villa on the case of Leon Bailey, in the form of loan with the option to buy – similar to the deal to bring the Irish striker Evan Ferguson about the squad of Giant Piero Gasperini.
As for Man United, they will put all their efforts for the opening match of the Premier League against Arsenal next Sunday. Coach Ruben Amorim's team will welcome the Gunners at Old Trafford, determined to redeem after a heavy disappointing season.
