MU is rushing to complete the final steps to officially bring back to Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo, when ready to pay 63 million pounds plus extra fees.
It seems that this will be an important summer transfer for MU after such a disappointing season. MU ended in the bottom half of the 2024/25 Premier League rankings and was not eligible to attend the European Cup new season.
In this context, MU tried to sign a contract with Matheus Cuha, who joined the Club from Wolves at the beginning of this summer transfer window. The Brazilian international player is a significant addition to Ruben Amorim's team when the Portuguese coach tries to change MU's attack. The Manchester City Club did not seem to stop there, with a series of attacking players put into sights.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, MU is now ready to pay 63 million pounds plus the surcharges to officially sign a contract with Brentford striker MBEumo. The previous personal terms have been agreed upon by oral, and the final details with Brentford are expected to be completed soon.
The Cameroon striker played explosive, contributing 20 goals and 8 assists through 38 appearances for Brentford in the Premier League last season. Mbeumo freely played in every position on the striker, which could make him a useful choice in Amorim's system.
The addition of Cunha and Mbeumo will definitely be a good start for MU's transfer, especially after a disappointing campaign. Meumo's signature will also send a real message about MU's ambition. Although he was not the striker MU wanted to fill in the No. 9 position, he had the ability that no other striker at Old Trafford could do.
MU has not scored at least 20 goals in the Premier League in a season since Robin Van Persie scored 26 goals in the last season of Sir Alex Ferguson as 2012/13. Both Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo have almost scored 20 goals in a Premier League season in recent years, each of them have two goals behind the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons. Marcus Rashford scored 17 goals in the Premier League out of 30 goals in all competitions in the 2022/23 season.
If Mbeumo joined MU and achieved nearly 20 goals next season, he will immediately be listed as the best contract of the club after Ferguson.
