BLD MU is considering attaching special terms in the deal to Barca borrowed Marcus Rashford, similar to when Jadon Sancho joined Chelsea last season.
Rashford has been removed from the Man United squad since the arise of disagreement with the new coach Ruben Amorim at the end of 2024. He spent the second half last season on loan at Aston Villa. The British star was deprived of the No. 10 shirt at Old Trafford after expressing his desire to leave, and is currently practicing separately to prepare for joining the new team.
The 27 -year -old winger did not participate in the opening friendly match of Man United last weekend and instead, according to many sources, he will join Barca on loan in the 2025/26 season. In addition, Jadon Sancho was also told that he could freely leave after playing for Chelsea last season.
Alejandro Garnacho and Antony can also find a new club when Amorim tries to streamline his bulky squad and turn the pathetic situation last season.
Man United and Barca are said to have agreed on the principle of a loan contract until the end of the 2025/26 season, with the terms of the Rashford purchase for nearly £ 30 million in the summer next year. However, that contract does not mean to buy British striker, and there are ideas that Man United may consider another specific provision to protect himself in case Barca refuses to buy.
In Sancho's agreement to join Chelsea last summer, the London team was obliged to buy him. However, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 also requires a term that allows them to pay 5 million pounds to not sign a contract with Sancho. Chelsea has done that term and Sancho has now returned to Man United to find a new club.
According to reputable sources, including the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Man United want to re -use this fine to protect himself in case Barca does not want to sign a contract with Rashford. However, it is unclear whether it means any terms of purchase will be a mandatory obligation or just a loan fee that is floated. Although the fine term is one of the first examples of such fees paid in the Sancho loan contract, the payment to withdraw from the terms of purchase is not much meaning for a player club that has not agreed on any agreement.
Other sources said that Barca will pay the entire salary of about 270,000 pounds/week after Rashford is said to have accepted a 15% discount on the salary receiving at MU (£ 315,000/week). Rashford still has 3 years of contract with Man United.
