The honorary president of Bayern, Uli Hoeness, affirmed that Nicolas Jackson would “certainly not” sign a long -term contract with the Gray Lobster of Bavaria and will return to Chelsea next summer.
Jackson joined Bayern on the last day of the summer transfer period on loan, with an initial fee of about £ 14 million for the 2025/26 season. The agreement has a £ 56 million purchase term, if the Senegal striker reaches enough appearance as prescribed.
This was once considered a great deal for Chelsea, the team only lost 32 million pounds to recruit Jackson two years ago and were ready to sell after Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
However, Hoeness revealed that Jackson would only be bought by Bayern if he played 40 matches, which he asserted “never happened”. He also said that Bayern in fact only paid £ 12 million for the borrowed fee, while Jackson and the representative paid the remaining difference of about 2 million pounds.
“The player and the representative contributed 2 million pounds, so we only had to pay £ 12 million,” Hoeness said on Sport1 channel. “There will certainly be no long -term contracts. Only when he plays 40 matches, that will happen. But there will never be that.”
Jackson is most likely to play a substitute in Bayern, behind England captain Harry Kane.
On the day of debut, Jackson once shared: “I am very happy to become a part of this great club. Bayern is one of the best teams in the world. I have big goals and dreams, I will devote myself to help Bayern won more titles.”
Jackson had an impressive first season with Chelsea when scoring 17 goals in all competitions, but significantly decided last season. Therefore, the Blues did not hesitate to leave him after adding Pedro and Delap. Initially, Chelsea had considered keeping Jackson when Delap was injured, but finally approved him to Bayern at the right time.
Despite being happy to play for a club, Jackson admitted he was “a bit sad” when he had to leave Chelsea: “I had a lot of memories there like the same team to win the Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup. I am grateful to Chelsea, coach Maresca and my teammates, but I need a new challenge in my career.”
Jackson may launch Bayern Munich this weekend when Vincent Kompany's team encountered Hamburg in Bundesliga.
