Immediately after pushing Marcus Rashford to Barca on the form of lending a season for the optional bought, MU continued to push the “Debt” second from the theater of dreams.
Accordingly, young goalkeeper Elyh Harrison, who was kept to continue playing for the Red Devils into Manchester in January, moved to Shrewsbury Town on loan in the 2025/26 season. The goalkeeper of this age will be very happy to be loaned for the second time, after having an impressive time lasting 6 months with Chester in the National League North in the 2024/25 season.
After 18 appearances with Chester, Harrison returned to Old Trafford in January to continue wearing MU U21 team and was first in the club's first team in February 2025 as a reserve goalkeeper, but not used. Harrison joined MU in 2022 from Stevenage and developed well in the club's U18 squad, showing the quality and courage when holding the ball as well as the ability to block impressive long shots.
Harrison's performance during the 2023/24 season was especially noticeable when he helped the U18 MU team win the unprecedented title trio, thereby winning the title of young player of the year, Denzil Haroun award.
As the U19 player, Harrison will play at Shrewsbury under the guidance of Michael Appleton, a graduated player from MU Academy, who won the best player award in the same year at United in 1996. Appleton continued to have two appearances for the team in Old Trafford, before moving to Preston North End and West Brom.
While the MU homepage sent a lucky wish to Harrison, Shrewsbury's football director Micky Moore said the U19 player had a “bright future” and will be noticed by many big teams. “We think he has all the right qualities and this may be a very good loan contract for him. Harrison will receive many good offers in the near future,” Moore emphasized.
