A shocking information that has just been given by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on the afternoon of July 24 is that the VFF Executive Committee approved the plan to select the replacement team, supplementing professional and professional football tournaments in the 2025/26 season.
This decision also officially closed the volatile journey of Quang Nam Club in the V.League Arena. Accordingly, the Quang team will certainly not attend the 2025/26 season.

And there will be a replacement club of Quang team to ensure full 14 teams competing in the V.League next season. This is an unexpected move of experts, after the scandal related to Quang Nam's merger with Da Nang Club on July 21. The entire player, coaching committee and management apparatus of Quang Nam were transferred to the Han River team, leaving a large space.
Earlier, VFF and VPF had positive moves and desire to support Quang Nam Club to continue the game to avoid affecting the schedule issued. However, at the deadline of 17h on 24/7, there was no additional sponsor appearing to “save” the Quang land team. This forced VFF to make a final decision, the name of Quang Nam and quickly deploy the alternative plan.
With Quang Nam leaving the game, the promotion door suddenly opened for three bright names that were eligible for permission to attend V.League 2025/26: Binh Dinh, Binh Phuoc and PVF-Cand. However, the most heavy candidate is Binh Phuoc, the runner -up team of the First Division 2024/25. This is really an “heavenly” opportunity for the Southeast team to first participate in the most prestigious playground in the country.
If Binh Phuoc officially won the V.League, the National First Division will also have noticeable adjustments. The two teams will be added to fill the blanks, the PVF-Cand and Lam Dong youth clubs. Of course, both teams must meet all strict criteria of professional and financial according to the Vietnam Professional Football Regulation and the National First Division Charter in the 2025/26 season.
The departure of Quang Nam certainly leaves many regrets for fans, but this is also a reminder of the challenges that Vietnamese football clubs face in maintaining their activities and sustainable development.
