After officially recruiting Success Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, Arsenal quickly determined the next goal on the transfer market this summer. It was the attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace.
Arsenal has just announced a blockbuster contract called Viktor Gyokeres. The Swedish striker landed at the Emirates Stadium for up to 73.5 million euros and will wear the number 14, the number of shirts used to be associated with the legend of Thierry Henry.
Speaking on the launch day of the Gunners, Gyokeres said: “I have scored a few goals in the Champions League in the sporting shirt, so I believe I am the level of playing in that playground. To a big team like Arsenal, with high -class players in the squad, I believe I will play even better. I am really excited to start.”
Not stopping there, coach Mikel Arteta and Arsenal leadership are promoting the next goal: Eberechi Eze, a player considered one of the most creative “10 numbers” in the Premier League today.
According to The Mirror, Eze is on Arsenal's top priority list after the impressive performance last season, especially the decision -making phase to help Crystal Palace defeat Man City in the FA Cup final in May.
A source from The Independent said that people close to Eze believed that the deal moving to Arsenal would be completed in the next few weeks. The British star is said to be very interested in the prospect of the Gunners and reunited with many teammates in the national team at the Emirates Stadium.
It is known that Eze has a £ 68 million contract release clause, but Arsenal is trying to negotiate to reduce the fee to about 60 million pounds. This is the fee that can cause Palace to nod.
Sharing about the transfer plan of the team, coach Arteta frankly admitted: “The market is still long and we are still looking for. In terms of quantity, the current team is still lacking and we need to increase the depth and quality. The club is closely monitoring the movement in the market.”
If recruiting successfully Eze after Gyokeres, Arsenal will have an additional creative and mutant armor, which is missing in big matches last season. This shows the clear ambition of Arteta to realize the dream of winning the Premier League after nearly two decades of waiting.
