Man City agreed to let young center -back Vitor Reis leave Etihad to switch to Girona on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season .. This is the City Football Group.
The arrangement between the “sister clubs” in City Football Group (CFG) will see the young Brazilian center -back join coach Michel's team in the 2025/26 season. Girona had previously had a contract to lend the former Winger Yan Couto of Man City and the current winger of Manchester Half of Manchester, Savinho – who was lent at the Catalunya Club from Troyes owned by CFG. Both players have become Brazilian national players.
Reis was 19 years old, joined Man City in the January transfer period from Palmeiras for an initial fee of 35 million euros, signed a contract with a period of four and a half years to the summer of 2029. The defender has had 4 appearances for Pep Guardiola's team since moving to Etihad, but no time in the Premier League. He played 90 minutes in 2-0 victory over Wydad at the Club World Cup this summer.
Man City has facilitated many lending deals to Girona in recent years, with CFG owning 30% of the La Liga team. Earlier, CFG owned 47% of the shares, but sold 17% to an independent trust fund to comply with the regulations on ownership of many UEFA clubs, allowing both teams to attend the Champions League.
Reis had 22 appearances for Palmeiras after maturing from the young Brazilian team training system. He signed his first professional contract at the end of the 2022 season and quickly asserted that he was the player who frequently kicked in the center -back position for coach Abel Ferreira's team.
He is one of the few young players of Palmeiras to be transferred to Europe. Reis matured from Palmeiras's young training system at the same time as Endrick and Luis Guilherme, who took turns to Real Madrid and West Ham in 2024. Estevao Willian, his teammate at that time also joined Chelsea this summer.
