“I had a long exchange with him and was very impressed with what he shared about Celtic, about his love for this club and the way Glasgow people respect it.”Simpson-Pusey shared on Celtic TV.
“I want to play football where my dedication is recognized. And Celtic brings that feeling. This is a great opportunity for me to express myself, prove class, and I believe this will be very beneficial for my development. Hopefully I can contribute to the team to successfully defend the domestic championship and go deep in the European Cup.”
Simpson-Pusey is not a strange name for Celtic fans when she played in a friendly match between the two teams last summer. The 19 -year -old center -back was the one who wore the captain's armband and led Man City to win the FA Youth Cup 2024 championship, and at the same time, there were 6 times in the first team last season.
Not only that, this young star is also honored as “the best player in the Premier League 2”, and led Man City's U21 team to win the tournament championship.
Coach Rodgers believes that Simpson-Pusey will be a valuable addition to Celtic defense, where he will compete the main stone with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Auston Trusty.
“Jahmai is an agile, strong, and brave center -back. He is not only sure in the defense but also has the ability to deploy extremely impressive balls whenever we transfer the attack state.”Rodgers commented.
“I know Jahmai is very excited with this new adventure, and the fact that he joins the team will create more necessary competition, which always brings positive benefits. I believe Jahmai will quickly integrate with the whole team in the process of preparing for the upcoming challenges, both in the country and the continental arena.”
