Why does MU decide to buy Sesko?

It seemed that it would be overlooked with MU recently to officially send the offer to RB Leipzig asked to buy Benjamin Sesko. So what does this Slovenian striker make the Red Devils so fascinated?

Sesko can be considered the largest, rough and brightest diamond in the group of young strikers playing in the top 5 leagues in Europe. In fact, this summer is the third time MU to the 22 -year -old star. The first time was 2019 when he launched the first NK Domzale team at the age of 16. Then it was in the 2022/23 season when Sesko scored 16 goals after 30 matches for RB Salzburg in the Austrian league.

By 2025, Sesko has developed into a “weightlifting hammer” in the attack. He possesses speed, strong finishing ability and drasticness that makes the central defenders bored. With a height of 1m95, massive bodybuilding, good speed, once “sweeping” the shirt before going to the Bundesliga, Sesko is often compared to Erling Haaland. Although it has not reached that level, the Slovenia player has enough qualities to reach.

Sesko shot map of Sesko season 2023/24 shows that he is ready to finish anytime, anywhere – left leg, right leg, head, long shot, close to the city … Sesko is a confident striker model, but not stable to become a top goalscorer. The proof is that he often “tries too much” in front of the goal, sometimes shot too strong when not needed.

In addition, the finishes with the right foot from the left corridor of Sesko still need to improve, as well as the ability to move within 5m50. However, fast reflexes and goalscoring instincts help the star born in 2003 always make the opponent's defender hesitate.

True to the spirit of a striker at the club of the Red Bull system, Sesko is especially dangerous in a large space. He left the opponent back after holding the counterattack. Bruno Fernandes – Persons often poked the slot in diagonal – may have to adjust the direction to suit the speed and height of Sesko.

In recent seasons, Sesko also began to have a habit of deep backing to coordinate. His technique is quite good, but not enough to compare with Alexander Isak or Harry Kane as a wall. However, Sesko can be ideal, know how to use a human body to make walls, surfing, good at air and clever enough to overcome the burnt defenders at the ball.

If this was 2005, Sesko would probably kick with a small “Peacher” in the 4-4-2 diagram, each scoring about 15 goals/season. But in 2025, he could score 15 goals each season in the independent striker. The question is whether Sesko can score regularly, and help teammates like Matheus Cunha or Bryan Mbeumo maximize the danger?

MU is believing that they can mold Sesko into a high -class goalscorer

Because there are too many qualities, Sesko sometimes plays better when not thinking much, just doing the simplest possible. In many matches, Sesko lacked sophistication in the finish, often defended by the defender or goalkeeper when he tried to recreate the Thierry Henry -like phase. He also sometimes was “too excited” when he passed a defender, then hurriedly shot without observing if any teammates were in a better position.

The above problems can be solved by proper training and a good support system. If raised properly, at the age of 29, Sesko can completely better than Ollie Watkins now, even becoming one of the leading strikers in the world.

The problem is: Do you believe that MU is currently able to develop such a player?

In the middle, Sesko is a striker with great potential, but also has many risks – especially for a club like MU. He can be ideal to adapt to the Premier League, but no one knows whether this 22 -year -old striker has enough bravery and psychology to face the pressure at Old Trafford.
