On the morning of August 10, 2025, the homepage of Ho Chi Minh City Police Club officially introduced their first foreign soldiers in the new season. It was the Brazilian center -back, Matheus Felipe Santos.

Ho Chi Minh City Police Club is showing great ambition in the V-League 2025/26 when successfully recruiting Brazilian center-back, Matheus Felipe Santos. With Transfermarkt pricing up to 1 million euros (about 30.5 billion), Matheus became the most expensive foreign soldier in the tournament history.
Matheus was present in Ho Chi Minh City on August 8, completed the medical examination and attended the team's military ceremony in the afternoon of the same day. With an ideal height of 1m86 and experience playing at famous Brazilian clubs such as Athletico Paranaense and Gremio Prudente, the 1998 center -back is expected to become a “steel block” in the defense of the team.
Matheus is only part of the plan to build an ambitious squad of Ho Chi Minh City Police.
