Gianluigi Donnarumma has officially completed the transfer from PSG to Man City for £ 26 million. He will replace Ederson when the goalkeeper switched to Fenerbahce.
The Italian goalkeeper signed a 5 -year contract with the Etihad team, with an additional option for one year. At the age of 26, he had to shoulder the great responsibility when replacing Ederson, who had just left Man City to join Fenerbahce after 8 years of Huy Hoang and Pep Guardiola.
Although not the “standard” goalkeeper of Pep, Donnarumma possesses a long experience, has played the peak for a decade and conquered many big titles at both clubs and national teams.
Donnarumma became the second young goalkeeper in the history of Serie A when it launched AC Milan at the age of 16 and 242 days. He played a total of 215 matches for Milan, winning the Italian Super Cup in 2016 before moving to PSG in 2021.
In Paris, he won 10 titles, including the Champions League championship last season, for the first time in PSG history, to complete the historic treble.
At the team level, Donnarumma is the youngest goalkeeper who used to play Italy, debuted at the age of 17. He had 74 main captures and played a key role in the Euro 2021 championship, where he was honored as the best player in the tournament, before continuing to win the Yashin Trophy at the Golden Ball Ceremony of the same year.

Donnarumma will wear the number 99 at Man City. He is the 7th rookie of the club this summer, and the third goalkeeper was brought back after James Trafford and Marcus Bettinelli.
Immediately after signing the contract, Donnarumma had not been able to get acquainted with the new team but had to recruit Italy to prepare for the World Cup qualifying match against Estonia and Israel. He will join Man City next weekend, ready for the extremely attractive potential debut before Man United on September 14.
