Eugenie Bouchard is experiencing the unforgettable stage when playing in parallel in two subjects: Pickleball and professional tennis. After a period of shifting to Pickleball, Canadian player not only had difficulties in expertise but also had a sentence for unprofessional behavior.
At the recent Pickleball Slam 3, Bouchard and his teammate Jessie Irvine of Phoenix Flames team had a fierce conflict just before the competition. Irvine was not satisfied with the way Bouchard started and decided to withdraw from the match.
The incident caused the Organizing Committee to sanction Bouchard by cutting 25% of the bonus, on the grounds that behavior is not suitable for the professional sports spirit. After that, Irvine continued to play with another athlete and won, while Bouchard was absent in the rest of the tournament.
After the shock at the Pickleball Slam, Bouchard decided to return to tennis – where she used to reach the peak with the No. 5 position in the world. However, the journey to re -export professional tennis yard is not smooth. She had just attended the qualifying round of the professional system, but was soon eliminated in the opening match – what was once compared to “losing right in the parking round”.
Currently, Bouchard is still trying to maintain competition in both areas. She once claimed that Pickleball was a new choice to help her find joy after persistent injury, but not completely giving up tennis – the place is still her great passion.
However, the faint achievement in both pickleball and tennis is making fans skeptical about the possibility of returning to the peak of the former tennis star used to be very expected.
Once expected to be the “new queen” of the felt village, Bouchard now faces double challenges: both regain professional form and restore images after unnecessary controversy. Her career in the future is still a big question mark.
