After a slow start in the summer transfer, Arsenal strengthened Mikel Arteta's squad with 6 important contracts. Players like Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke both went to the Emirates Stadium to strengthen the London team's squad.

Although only kicked 12 times for Rennes in Ligue 1 last season, Jacquet was considered as one of the most promising defenders in France. He and France U19 reached the final of the European U19 tournament last year. Jacquet spent the first half of the last season on the loan at the Clubont Club in Ligue 2, before being called in January by Rennes in January.
The Gunners negotiated with Rennes, the 12th team in Ligue 1 last season, to express their interest in Jacquet. The Emirates Stadium accepted £ 17.6 million for this deal. Arsenal will find a way to bring Jacquet to North London this month if Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko leave.
