The most beautiful athletes in the world, Alica Schmidt, made the online community fascinated on the day of re -exporting. She said she was still practicing 100km per week.
At the age of 26, Alica Schmidt, who was dubbed the “most attractive female athletes in the world” with 5.6 million followers on Instagram, decided to challenge herself by switching from the 400m forte to the average distance of 800m. This not only changes the strategy of the competition but also the comprehensive effect on her training, nutrition and physical condition.
“I had to run up to 100km per week during training,” Alica shared on the sidelines of the German National Championship at Dresden. “Previously, I only ran about 10–15km per week. Those long distances require a lot of physical strength and of course, the constant hunger, especially when practicing in a place with great height.”
At the training camp in South Africa, Alica mainly focuses on endurance instead of strength. But the movement of 800m has not brought success as expected. “I have the advantage in the sprint and strength, but obviously I still have a lot of work to do with endurance,” she admitted.
At the German National Championship over the weekend, Alica only reached the third destination in the first turn with 2 minutes 06.47 seconds, not enough to reach the top 8 final. She was forced to retreat early. Schmidt shared that she was still recovering after Covid-19 and had a slight cold a few days before the tournament.
“Although I did not achieve the best condition, I still didn't want to miss the most important event in the season,” Alica said. She also acknowledged that winning tickets to the WDU in Tokyo in September is quite far away.
Even so, Alica was not discouraged. She continues to raise hope at 800m distance, with a further goal: winning tickets to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. And maybe, it is there that the beauty and will of the steel of Alica Schmidt will shine together.
