Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is about to join PSG for a huge fee

French media reported that goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier of Lille will officially join Paris Saint-Germain from the next season. The player born in 2002 is expected to sign a 5 -year contract with the Capital team in the afternoon of 8/8, after completing the medical examination.

The contract of Gianluigi Donnarumma with PSG is only one year. According to the close source, the appearance of Chevalier is considered a move to “pave the way” for the Italian goalkeeper to leave, even though he has just experienced a successful season with the Champions League championship and impressive performances in the continental arena.

PSG's accession promises to be much more challenging for Lucas Chevalier than in Lille. He himself also acknowledged at the UNFP Award Gala, where he was elected as the best goalkeeper Ligue 1 season 2024/25:

“When a goalkeeper like Donnarumma has a decline in Paris, a great influence, the media will not ignore. In Lille, everything is much softer. If I make the same mistake in Lille, the impact is smaller than him in Paris.”

Chevalier left Lille when the team ended Ligue 1 in the 5th position, reaching the 1/8 round of the Champions League. He was lent at Valenciennes season 2021/22, he quickly shone and was elected “a new discovery in the position of goalkeeper Ligue 2” that year.

Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier was first summoned to France in November 2024, participating in the last 6 gatherings but has not played any match. Joining PSG, he aims to continue to rise strongly, towards the World Cup only a year away.
