Chelsea confirmed the completion of the winged striker Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund for £ 48.5 million, with additional provisions that could increase the total value to 52 million pounds.
The 20 -year -old British has signed a 7 -year contract with the Stamford Bridge team, lasting until the summer of 2032.
Earlier, Dortmund also confirmed the sale of Gittens, and this player appeared in the stands to cheer Chelsea in the victory over Palmeiras at the Club World Cup in Philadelphia.
Sharing on the Chelsea homepage, Gittens said: “It feels great. Joining a big team like Chelsea is unimaginable for me. I am eager to learn from my teammates and ready to make every effort here.”
This deal was almost broken when Chelsea made a proposal from the beginning of June but could not complete before the 2025 Club – Dortmund tournament also attended. Gittens is very eager to return to England, believing that playing for Chelsea will increase the chance to get to the list of England to attend the World Cup summer next year.
On the side of Dortmund, they accepted to let the player of the Man City Academy leave to re -invest in the squad of coach Niko Kovac – who helped the club to win tickets to the Champions League next season on the Bundesliga 2024/25 day.

The Athletic revealed that Chelsea is prioritizing recruiting a striker and a right -foot -based winger in this summer transfer window. Before Gittens, they had Liam Delap (from Ipswich), Joao Pedro (Brighton), and the young contracts including Dario Essugo, Estevao, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez.
