The young talent of Vietnam Duong Thien Quang (Quang Duong) has just made the international Pickleball village wave when winning the two men's men's and men's doubles championships at the Monsoon Pickleball Championship 3.0.
Monsoon Pickleball Championship 3.0 takes place from July 31 to August 3 in Navi Mumbai, India, with more than 800 attendees and total prizes of more than $ 60,000.
Right from the first day of the pitch, Quang Duong played sublimated through 5 consecutive games to reach all 3 finals: men's men, men and men's doubles. In the men's match, the 19-year-old player excelled over the opponent of the host Aditya Ruhela with the score of 11-2 and 10-3 to win a convincing championship.
Next, Quang Duong entered the final of the men-women with teammate Emilia Schmidt. Despite the good start when winning the first set 11-10, Quang and Emilia did not keep the form in the next two sets and accepted the runner-up position with a score of 1-2.
An hour later, he re-appeared in the final of the men's double with Harsh Mehta, the Men's double champion of the Panas Malaysia Open 2025. The smooth coordination between Quang Duong's technique and Harsh's speed helped both defeat the Rob Nodunery-Ryler with a score of 2–0, bringing back the second trophy.
Duong Thien Quang was born in 2006 in Manhattan Beach (California, USA), with Vietnamese parents. From a young age, besides table tennis and tennis, Quang Duong moved to play pickleball from 2020 and soon reached high rankings in the international village. In July 2025, he was in the top 6 men's menu on the PPA Rankings rankings.
Sharing after the victory, Quang Duong expressed his gratitude to the team of his teammates who had been with him throughout the tournament, and emphasized this result as a reward for continuous efforts for 4 days of fierce competition. He also frankly shared the championship of the couple somewhat lucky, but emphasized the coordination of intentions and the fighting spirit as the decisive factor.
Although Quang Duong has been eliminated by the American Pickleball Association (UPA) from the PPA rankings and MLP for violations of commercial contracts, father and also representative – Mr. Duong Duy Duc – confirming this does not affect his son's career, when the family wants Quang Duong to develop the global Pickleball career, not only limited to the United States.
At the Asian pickleball system (DuPR) as of July 10, Quang topped both men's menu (6,865 points) and men's doubles (6,602 points).
The last victory is not only an important milestone in Quang Duong's career, but also contributes to spreading the image of Pickleball Vietnam on the world map. With the determination and peak form, this young talent is writing a new chapter full of promising for Pickleball Vietnam.
