Jadon Sancho is said to have rejected a huge contract offer from Chelsea, before he returned to MU this summer.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Chelsea is ready to pay the salary of 180,000 – 200,000 pounds/week, equivalent to the amount they have contributed to Sancho's salary during his borrowing time in the 2024/25 season.
However, the 25 -year -old rejected this offer. The Blues then had to pay MU for £ 5 million to not sign a contract with the British player – what surprised many people, because the deal seemed to be completed with the agreed price of £ 25 million.
Sancho was once considered the main factor in the tactical system of coach Enzo Maresca, surpassing the names like Joao Felix or Mykhailo Mudryk in a cramped Chelsea squad. He often plays from the beginning and has a total of 41 appearances in all competitions.
The refusal of the invitation from Chelsea does not mean a “real return” at Old Trafford. Sancho is one of the 5 players allowed by coach Ruben Amorim not to not meet before the season. The remaining players include Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho – all allowed to leave more to search for new stops.
Sancho's decision shows that he is not willing to accept salary reduction from £ 300,000/week. However, in recent days, the former Dortmund star has been ready to join Juventus with a transfer fee of about 25 million pounds, and can accept lower salaries.
However, this deal could be delayed by Sancho expected a £ 5 million compensation from Man United as part of the league agreement. Currently, this player has only 1 year contract with the Red Devils.
