Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole urged the old team to buy a new goalkeeper, to promote the ambition to win the Premier League.
The Blues ranked fourth last season, will start the English Premier League 2025/26 on Sunday when confronting the team with London, Crystal Palace. Some new faces will participate in the opening of the Premier League of Chelsea, when the Blues spent about £ 250 million for the rookies this summer.
Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato and Liam Delap both went to Stamford Bridge. Joe Cole was really impressed with Chelsea's transfer activities this summer and especially expected Pedro, supporting this Brazilian player to a new level after moving from Brighton for £ 60 million.

But Cole believes that Chelsea needs to sign a new goalkeeper before the summer transfer closed if they really want to compete for the Premier League championship. Cole shared with TNT Sports: “They constantly changed the goalkeeper position last season. Look at all the great teams who won the championship, they own a top goalkeeper. For me, it is reasonable that we need to solve this problem.”
Chelsea negotiated to sign contracts with Mike Maignan from AC Milan in the early summer, but now it seems that they are ready to trust in Robert Sanchez, who made many mistakes leading to the goal last season.
While Cole wants a new goalkeeper to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's current transfer priority is Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho. Chelsea also wants to push Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell.
