The former No. 1 female player in the world, Maria Sharapova has just sold a luxurious villa designed by herself with a price of up to 18.5 million pounds (equivalent to $ 25 million).
The former tennis player won 5 Grand Slam titles that bought this real estate 13 years ago for only 3 million pounds. According to The Wall Street Journal, Sharapova now wants to break up his place for many years and ready to leave all, from the beautiful sea view to the indoor bowling street.
Sharapova was engaged to the British businessman, Alexander Gilkes, and the couple was planning to leave Los Angeles to move to Europe to live.
If this intention is done, they will have to leave the beautiful house where not only owns the view of the sea but also equipped with full amenities. An outdoor pool connected to the main building, adjacent to the porch area and the wide turf, where the chairs are located in the resort style.
The most special feature in the villa is the indoor bowling lane with two professional balloons, placed right next to the lower floor kitchen. The interior design of Sharapova focuses on connection and closeness, with large sliding doors from the kitchen to open the pool and BBQ -style BBQ area.
The second floor balcony allows the owner to zoom in to the panoramic view of Los Angeles, even seeing Catalina island far away. When the night falls, the pool area becomes an ideal place to relax with the tables and chairs on the porch, heated with a large outdoor fireplace.
Sharapova retired at 2020 at the age of 32, after a glorious career but also many ups and downs. She won 5 Grand Slams but in the last years of her career was covered by a ban on Doping (Meldoium) in April 2017.
The ban caused Sharapova's image and brand to be seriously affected, leading to a decline in form. She fell to 373 world before announcing a racket. Now, Sharapova seems to be aiming for a new, quieter but also sophisticated life, where she can say goodbye to the past and start a new journey in Europe.
