According to sources, MU resolutely maintained his valuation for Bryan Mbeumo, despite Brentford's just raised the required price for the Cameroon star.
MU has had a long time negotiating with “bees” to recruit 26 -year -old striker. This striker scored 20 goals last season. However, both of the Red Devils' offers, the latest 62.5 million pounds, were rejected by Brentford.
Although Mbeumo expressed his desire to be transferred to Old Trafford this summer, Brentford still holds a tough stance in price.
According to The Guardian, at the end of June, MU's Sports Director Jason Wilcox believes that a 65 million pound transfer package will be enough to close the deal. However, since then Brentford has raised the valuation to nearly 70 million pounds, despite Mbeumo who has just returned to practice the season with the club.
MU does not accept being forced or pays exceeding the target in the context that they are inherently tightening the budget. Although the contract of MBEumo will expire in the summer of the following year, Brentford still has an additional term for 1 year extension, helping them keep the initiative.
The London Club understands that MU is under huge pressure from fans after the worst season in the Premier League history, when they finish at the 15th place. Up to now, the only big rookie MU recruited was Mathius Cuha from Wolves for £ 62.5 million, and some young contracts such as Diego Leon or Enzo Kana-Biyik.
Despite the obstacles, according to Manchester Evening News, MU leadership is still optimistic that they can close the MBEumo deal before the team traveling to the United States to attend the pre -season tour. However, if not yet completed, the deal can still be closed later and MBeumo can join at the end of the tour.
MU has returned to training at Carrington, and will play friendly with Leeds at Stockholm on July 19, before leaving for Chicago on July 22 to attend the Premier League Summer Series, meeting West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton.
MU will end the friendly series with Fiorentina at home on August 9, before welcoming Arsenal at Old Trafford in the opening round of the Premier League on August 17.
