Newcastle has officially announced the appearance of center -back Malick Thiaw from AC Milan. This is the third rookie of Choi Chu in the summer transfer period 2025.
Malick Thiaw joined Newcastle from AC Milan in the deal that is said to be worth £ 30.3 million (35 million euros), with an additional 4.3 million pounds (5 million euros) potential surcharges.
The 24 -year -old German player will wear the No. 12 shirt in Newcastle and become their second official contract this summer after Elanga, in addition to Aaron Ramsdale coming to lend.
The addition of Thiaw will help coach Eddie Howe have more depth in the defense. In the 2024/25 season, Sven Botman missed most of the time due to injury, while Lloyd Kelly joined Juventus on the form of loan in January and was sold off in the summer of 2025.
Sharing on the Newcastle homepage, Thiaw said: “I am really excited to join a big club like this. I can't wait to start practicing, getting acquainted with new teammates and the entire coaching board.”
“The coach showed me his vision and what he wanted to do with me as well as the club, which really made me excited. Newcastle was a great, strong team for the passionate fans that I was anxious to meet at St. James' Park.”
The rest of Newcastle's summer transfer is likely to revolve around the future of a name: Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker really wants to join Liverpool and believe his time in St. James' Park has ended, but whether the deal can be completed in the last few weeks or not, they still have to wait.
