Duong Thien Quang (Quang Duong) is like a pickleball prodigy in the world. Latest, this overseas Vietnamese player with his father and younger brother returned to the country to have a remarkable transformation next in his career. This happens immediately after the controversy with the American Pickleball Association.
Quang Duong's full name is Duong Thien Quang, born in California in a Vietnamese family. He soon came into contact with sports tennis, table tennis before switching to pickleball in 2020. Although he was very young, he created his name in the international arena with the style of fire and impressive achievements, once rising to the top 6 in the world at the age of 19. Therefore, fans nicknamed him as a “prodigy” Pickleball. In addition to the international career, Quang Duong is also a familiar face in pickleball activities in Vietnam, contributing to promoting the movement and connecting the domestic sports community to the world.
Recently, he has just returned to Vietnam to combine with Wika sports firm, launching his own collection, called “Wika X Quang Duong Core-X Pro Series”, including Pickleball shoes. This product immediately attracts and concerned by a large number of Pickleball Vietnam players, from the movement to professional. Talking to fans as well as inspiring Pickleball Vietnam players, Quang Duong said: “From the day I returned to Vietnam, to go to many localities across the country, attending many tournaments, I witnessed the strong development of the Pickleball movement.
The crowded stands closed the viewers of each tournament, the field is always full of people practicing and playing football. Pickleball players in Vietnam are very diverse in age, as long as they share the same hobby that can carry the racket to the pitch. That is also the reason I decided to embark on cooperating to bring quality products to pickleball players in Vietnam. Earlier, in mid -July, the US Pickleball Federation (UPA) officially terminated a professional contract with a player born in 2006. According to UPA, Quang Duong did not attend the MLP tournament from 9 to 13.7 at Grand Rapids, Michigan without notice, and appeared at an exchange event in Khanh Hoa on July 12. UPA said that this action violated the provisions of exclusive trade contracts that he signed with the organization.
After that, Quang Duong's record was deleted from the database of the professional Pickleball athletes. He also lost the 6th place on the PPA Rankings rankings, giving way to the 35 -year -old Tyson McGuffin – who was 300 points inferior to Quang Duong.

Quang Duong is currently in Vietnam and his family to attend a number of sports exchange activities. Mr. Duong Duy Duc said he asked for permission to UPA to take his son to the country to treat injury and not participate in the MLP tournament. He also said he would authorize the lawyer to work with UPA to clarify the case.
