Real Madrid is actively seeking to liquidate center -back David Alaba, when constant injuries and high salary have made the Austrian center -back a burden both financial and professional.
According to Mundo Deportivo source, Alaba's downward performance has become a big problem for Real Madrid. He is receiving a salary of 22.5 million euros/year after tax, the third highest squad after Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
Arriving at the Bernabeu from Bayern in 2021, Alaba was once considered the perfect successor for Sergio Ramos. He played impressively in the first season, helping Real Madrid win La Liga and Champions League.
However, everything collapsed after a previous ligament injury against Villarreal in December 2023. After 399 days of recovery, Alaba re -exported in January 2025 but continued to have a physical problem. Last season, Alaba only played 14 times, including only 5 matches and only 1 match for 90 minutes.
Worse, since returning to the injury, Alaba has never played for 2 consecutive games, making coach Carlo Ancelotti unable to trust him as a leader in the defense.
Alaba also contracts until June 2026, but Real Madrid wants to reduce the salary fund and consider him a link to liquidate. However, finding partners is not easy due to concerns about the fitness of the 32 -year -old.
