Arsenal invested a lot of effort to pursue Benjamin Sesko but the deal eventually broke.
According to British and Portuguese media, Arsenal reached personal agreement with Viktor Gyokeres. In addition, the Gunners are also willing to spend nearly 70 million euros in exchange for the service of the Sporting Lisbon striker.
According to Record, Arsenal officials were present at Lisbon last Friday and was supposed to have sent a proposal worth 65 million euros (56 million pounds) with an additional $ 15 million (£ 13 million), right for the price of 80 million euros that Sporting offered.
Initially, the Portuguese team still wanted 70 million euros (60 million pounds) to be a fixed transfer fee and 10 million euros (9 million pounds) and the remaining surcharges. But after many hours of negotiation, they finally accepted the Gunners' proposal.
Besides Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko is also the top goal of Arsenal. The North London team pursued the Slovenian striker during the summer of 2025.
However, this deal is almost certainly not successful. According to The Independent, RB Leipzig insists on the price of 80 million euros for Sesko. Meanwhile, Arsenal only accepts a maximum of 70 million euros. Before the toughness of the opponent, Arsenal was forced to change.
In addition, the Gunners did not reach personal agreements with Benjamin Sesko. These two factors combined that the deal could not be completed.
Both Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres showed impressive performance last season. Specifically, Sesko scored 21 goals after 45 appearances in all competitions. For his part, Gyokeres played a total of 52 matches, contributing up to 54 goals.
