The peak of Pickleball Vietnam: Phuc Huynh 'crushed' Ly Hoang Nam, crowned Vietnam Open 2025

It took only 25 minutes, the player Huynh Thien Phuc-often known as Phuc Huynh-defeated Ly Hoang Nam with a quick score of 11-5, 11-1, to win the men's singles championship at PPA Asia-MB Vietnam Open 2025.

The final took place on September 7 at Global City (Thu Duc) marking a special milestone for both. For Hoang Nam, this is the first time he has participated in the final of a tournament of the PPA Asia Tour system. On the contrary, Phuc Huynh entered the battle with a different mind: he just won the JAPAN Open runner -up a week ago and desire to change the medal color.

Hoang Nam started impressive, leading 4-0 with a high-class ATP. But that is all he can do. When he regained the right to serve, Phuc Huynh accelerated strongly, launching a series of 7 consecutive points to turn the situation. Although Hoang Nam asked Time-Out to cut the excitement, Huynh still played overwhelming, closing the first set of 11-5 with a perfect string.

Entering the two set, the game is almost one way. Phuc Huynh scored 5 points immediately, quickly led 7-1. The effort to adjust Hoang Nam's tactics is not effective. He was completely caught up in the strong fighting style, the yard, the extremely flexible kitchen capture of his juniors, before guarding the racket with a heavy score of 1-11.

Born in 2000, to the US from the age of three, Phuc Huynh is currently a professional Pickleball athlete. He won the Pickleball Asia Open 2024 championship, and has now added the title of Vietnam Open 2025 to his collection. “I am very happy and grateful for the support from everyone. Vietnamese players have played very well in this tournament, and I believe Pickleball Vietnam will go even further in the future,” Huynh shared after the match.

Vietnam Open 2025 is also the first time PPA Asia Tour has come to Vietnam. The award for the single champion is US $ 1,800, double USD 3,000, and the familiar fund: 1,000 points for the championship, 800 for the runner -up and from 100 points with 150 USD for the athlete to stop in the round of 16.

Notably, this is also the first time this tournament system has been organized outdoors, different from the periods in Malaysia, Hong Kong or Japan before. The organizers affirmed that the yard in Vietnam fully meets the PPA Asia standard. After Ho Chi Minh City, the tournament will continue to return to Vietnam with a new destination: Da Nang.
