Midfielder Thomas Partey will leave Arsenal on July 1 when his contract with the club is officially expired, and the Gunners are expected to confirm his departure as soon as possible.
The 32 -year -old Ghana player had negotiations with Arsenal to renew the contract, but the two sides did not reach an agreement on the terms.
Although the ability to break up has become clear in the past few weeks, but now the decision has finally been made.
In April, The Athletic reported that Arsenal and Partey were still negotiating about the extension. He has also been free to negotiate with foreign teams since January this year.
Although not reaching the agreement, Partey is still an important part of the team of coach Mikel Arteta season 2024/25, playing up to 52 matches in all competitions.
Arsenal is planning to consolidate the middle line this summer. A deal with Real Sociedad's Martin Zubendi is said to have been completed, but the Spanish team wants the deal to be officially announced since July for accounting reasons.
Besides, Arsenal is also completing negotiations with Brentford to recruit midfielder Christian Norgaard.
Partey joined Arsenal in October 2020 from Atletico after the British team activated the Liberation Clause worth 50 million euros (about 42.7 million pounds). He had 167 appearances and scored 9 goals for the Gunners.
Previously, Partey started his career at Atletico since 2012, when there was no professional match. He played 188 times for the first team, scored 16 goals, won the Europa League in 2018 and was the 2016 Champions League runner -up.
The case of Partey is similar to Jorginho, who has run out of contract with Arsenal this summer and has moved to Flamengo before the Club World Cup in early June.
