The U21 Vietnam Volleyball team closed the journey at the World U21 Women's Volleyball Championship 2025 with a convincing 3-0 victory over the U21 Dominican Republic-the team holding the 13th position on the world rankings, on the evening of August 16.
In the last match, the students of coach Nguyen Trong Linh played confidently and overwhelming from the beginning.
Set 1: Vietnam won 25-19, taking good advantage of 11 personal errors of the opponent and the ball phase, the ball broadcast effectively.
Set 2: The girls continue to sublimate, win 25-17 with a booming attack and a solid gameplay.
Set 3: Although Dominican tried to rise, Vietnam still played proactively, won 25-17 thanks to the effective row to record up to 6 points, closing the 3-0 match.
For the first time in the world playground, U21 Vietnam Women's Volleyballs not only passed the group stage to enter the 1/8 round, but also left many imprints. However, the incident of athletes has led the team to receive a heavy penalty from FIVB, losing 4 matches 0-3 and forced to play in the 17–24 class, an unprecedented challenge.
Even so, young girls still played resilient: defeated U21 Egypt, only lost to U21 Chile and ended with a resounding victory over Dominican. If not counting 4 matches lost, Vietnam has played a total of 8 matches, won 6 wins and lost only 2 – a very proud achievement at the first time.
The victory over the Top 13 team in the world is the sweet farewell, affirming the bravery and fighting spirit of U21 Vietnam. With the 19th -class position, the team left a memorable milestone, worthy of persistent efforts in the journey of emotional emotions.
