BBC Sport confirmed that Arsenal has officially sent a proposal to Chelsea to ask to buy Noni Madueke winger.
Coach Mikel Arteta has long admired Madueke's flexibility, who can play well on both wings. The Spanish leader was rushing to find a backup plan for Bukayo Saka, the club's main star struggled with injury last season.
The relationship between Arsenal and Chelsea is quite active after the transfer of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for £ 5 million not long ago. The Blues side valued Madueke at £ 50 million – nearly double the amount of £ 28.5 million to buy him from PSV in January 2023.
The 23 -year -old has scored 20 goals after 91 matches for Chelsea, including 7 goals in the Premier League 2024/25, only behind Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson. The British press said Arsenal had reached personal agreement with Madueke, and now only waiting for the transfer fee.
Recently, coach Enzo Maresca also opened up about the ability to break up Madueke. He said: “Noni was very important to us last season, but I just wanted to keep the truly happy players at the club. Anyone who is unhappy can leave. This is not only applicable to Madueke but for all players.”
Currently Madueke is still playing with Chelsea at the Club World Cup in the US – where Maresca's team has reached the final and will confront PSG. In addition to Madueke, Arsenal are following Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), and Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting Lisbon). In particular, the Gyokeres deal is only about 4.3 million pounds away from the required price.
