Diogo Dalot took over the No. 2 shirt of Victor Lindelof.

In the first training session after returning to MU, Dalot caught the attention of the media when wearing the No. 2 shirt, instead of the familiar number 20 he used, since joining the club from Porto in 2018.

And according to the information that has just been confirmed by the Red Devils, Dalot will officially switch to number 2, taking over the number of blank shirts after the departure of Victor Lindelof this summer.

The number 2 is the traditional shirt of the right defenders, and the 26 -year -old also had the opportunity to wear this shirt for the national team in the past.

Among those who used to wear the number 2 shirt, the legend was very loyal to the club, Gary Neville, who wore this shirt from 1994 until she was retired in 2011.

Diogo Dalot is also the next name at MU to receive a new shirt before the 2025/26 season, after Matheus CunHa was awarded the number 10 and three other young talents to change the number of shirts in the team: Shea Lacey (61), Bendito Mantato (70) and Rece Munro (65).
