Coach Luis Enrique asked the PSG Board of Directors to recruit two stars of Barcelona, after the defeat to Chelsea at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 final.
The 0-3 defeat against Chelsea in the final of the 2025 World Cup Club exposes significant weaknesses in the Paris Saint-Germain squad, especially in the middle. When the trio Ruiz – Vitinha – Neves did not show the expectation, PSG would have a deadlock.
Therefore, coach Luis Enrique immediately asked the leadership to strengthen the force with two names from the former Barcelona club, Marc Casado and Fermín Lopez.
Both young midfielders are growing up in the Barcelona shirt and is highly appreciated in the long -term plan of coach Hansi Flick. However, the unstable financial situation is forcing Barca to take into account the ability to sell people for shopping costs. The PSG side will definitely have to spend a small amount of money to make it difficult for Barca to refuse.
According to Fichajes, Barca values for each player about 70 million euros, but it is still capable of negotiating depending on the form of payment and the accompanying terms. Money has never been a problem for PSG but surely, the Champions League champion team will have to negotiate to buy the above duo at a more reasonable price.
Luis Enrique believes that Casado and Fermin will help PSG balance the squad, especially in the context that the team needs to be strongly reconstructed after losing the title of FIFA Club World Cup into Chelsea.
Also related to PSG, center -back Lucas Beraldo recently expressed his desire to join the new team in this summer transfer window. Beraldo has 25 appearances in Ligue 1 last season. He is only the project plan at Parc des Princes for the duo Marquinhos and Willian Pocho.
PSG is ready to listen to suggestions for Beraldo, but only when the team finds the right replacement on the transfer market. In addition, the French club did not accept any offer under 30 million euros.
