Barca will pay all the salary to Marcus Rashford. MU can save nearly 13 million pounds in a year. But do not let the numbers deceive. This is still a completely lost deal of the Old Trafford team.
When “strategic assets” become a liquidated item
Regardless of whether Rashford shines at the Camp Nou or not, Man United himself will no longer control anything. They are passive, losing the right to dispose of the destiny of one of the most prominent players that the Carrington furnace has ever produced.
Turn back two years ago: Rashford has just had a booming season with 34 goals for England and England, which is valued at £ 100 million. Man United rejected all offers and gave him a super terrible contract worth £ 325,000/week for 5 years. A move shows absolute faith in the future.
But after only 18 months, Rashford became a “redundant”. Being eliminated by coach Ruben Amorim from the squad, being deprived of the No. 10 shirt, was exiled to Aston Villa on the form of borrowed. And now, is another trip to Barcelona. It is still a loan form, with a term of purchase of 30 million euros. An unbelievable cheap price for a 27 -year -old English player who used to be the top star.
No club has abandoned a 100 million pound assets in exchange for £ 26 million after two seasons. But with Man United, that is happening. And worse, they have no decisive voice.
If Rashford plays well, Barca can buy it at a cheap price. If he fails, this striker will return to Old Trafford as a “huge burden”. That's such a jam, there is no way to win for the Red Devils.
The image of the club is increasingly degraded
The Rashford case is not only a financial failure. It also seriously weakens the image of Man United. They used to be a famous club for controlling the players well, clearly oriented, and not easy to lose key personnel in a passive way.
But now, Rashford, a symbol of young training, who has been expected to be the face that leads the new era, leaves as a “discharge” item. No farewell ceremony, no emotions, and no regrets from those who praised him.
Worse, this is not the first case. Jadon Sancho, Antony, Garnacho were placed on the transfer floor in the same way. When Ruben Amorim publicly deceived the group of this player from the plan, Man United was like declaring himself to bankruptcy of the sports strategy that has pursued for the past 5 years.
That behavior makes the partner buy knowing that Man United is “urgently sold”. The value of the player is therefore decline, and the club is no longer bargaining. Rashford is a typical example. A player used to be interested by Chelsea and PSG, now can only leave on the form of loan. And the borrowed team is Barcelona nor forced to buy.
Pay price for a decade of disorientation
Rashford's departure may be an indispensable consequence of a professional decline. But it is also a clear testament to the long -term disorientation at Old Trafford. A club buying a player according to the movement, signing a long -term contract without appreciating the capacity, and firing coach will always end with the scene of “discharging capital losses”.
Nobody denies that Dashford has been disappointed in the past 15 months. But if he was placed in a more appropriate system, with clear support, it was likely that he wouldn't have fallen into the current situation. Unai Emery once helped him to revive somewhat in Villa. Hansi Flick can do the same thing at Barca.
And what if that happened? Man United will only add to reputation and images. They will be compared, criticized for not knowing how to promote their own players.
Like Sancho stone or in Dortmund but faint at Old Trafford, or like Lukaku shines in Inter but lost in the UK. The failure of the transfer gradually erodes the belief from the internal to the fans of the Red Devils.
“Save” in the immediate future, long -term losses
There may be people who say: “At least Man United saves Rashford's salary.” But the truth is, they lost part of history, lost faith from the Academy, lost the image of a strategy team. And 12.75 million pounds savings for 12 months cannot change all these things.
Man United once bet on Amorim, who came to “clean up” the dressing room and reconstruct the club. But when the person who was removed was a player with 426 matches for the team, 138 goals and used to be the inspiration of the whole Britain, the price of “reform” could be greater than imagination.
Barca may not use much Rashford. But at least, they have the choice to use or quit next year. And Man United, they are having a headache that they should wish Rashford sublimated to sell or hope that he kicks up to prove that he is not wrong.
The Rashford transfer is the best reflective example for the stray at Man United. A deal that does not bring significant cash, does not help strengthen the image, do not thoroughly solve the sports issue and may make them pay a bigger price in the long run.
And so, regardless of whether Barca paid the package, whether it bought it or not, with Man United, this is still a loss game right from the time they put the pen to the contract.
