At the 2025 World Badminton Championship, Vietnamese player Nguyen Thuy Linh excelled to defeat Kirsty Gilmour to gain the right to attend the 1/8 round.

While Thuy Linh was about to play in the 1/8 round, Vu Thi Trang had to stop the game. In the second round, Vu Thi Trang lost to Gao Fangjie after 2 sets with a score of 17-21 and 18-21.
