A Liverpool player is about to leave the club before striker Alexander Isak joined Anfield from Newcastle.
Liverpool spent strongly this summer, with contracts like Florian Wirtz or Hugo Ekitike. However, The Reds did not stop and they reached an agreement with Newcastle about recruiting Isak for £ 130 million.
Not stopping there, Liverpool is also working to recruit Trung Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace before the transfer deadline today. Guehi, who has participated in Palace's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa recently, also wanted to wear Liverpool.
If the defending champion recruits Guehi, then Joe Gomez is likely to leave the club. According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Gomez is about to sign a contract with AC Milan if he agrees with the deal.
Gomez has considered the options in the summer and became Milan's target – the team looking for a new center -back after selling Malick Thiaw to Newcastle. Gomez has been with Liverpool since the summer of 2015 and has a total of 243 appearances for the club. He had just come in instead of a 1-0 victory over Arsenal.
Speaking after the dramatic victory over Arsenal, coach Arne Slot was asked about Liverpool's transfer situation. He admitted that he would probably “know the development” on Sunday night (now he): “Maybe I will hear what will happen tonight.”
If Liverpool finalized both Isak and Guehi, they would raise the total number of rookies this summer to 8 and 9.
